ABB and Julius Baer are premium partners. Logistics are handled by DHL. No engine roar, but a high-revving whir and – finally – the familiar tire noise. One of the special rules of the electric rally : Charging the vehicle battery is prohibited during qualifying, the race, the entire parc fermé, and technical inspection.

As part of the partnership, plans to green one of the racetrack's grandstands – covering it with 400 olive trees native to the region – a subtle nod to DHL's GoGreen environmental program. In May, 350 trees will be planted at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. The remaining 50 will be planted by DHL Express employees themselves, in collaboration with a local NGO.

What began in 2011 as a shared dream of Formula E founder Alejandro Agag and FIA President Jean Todt has since become the fastest-growing motorsport series in the world. Prior to the 2020/21 season, Formula E achieved world championship status and is now known as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The idea for an all-electric street racing series began with a few notes scribbled on a napkin. On the evening of March 3, 2011, FIA President Jean Todt and Spanish businessman and later Formula E chairman Alejandro Agag met in a Paris restaurant and, in just a few words, outlined their ideas for what would become the world's first all-electric international formula championship.

Formula E's founding mission was to bring together the best racing drivers and teams to race on the streets of the world's most famous cities – with the aim of showcasing the possibilities of sustainable mobility and bringing electric vehicles to the forefront of public awareness – for a better, cleaner world.

Since its debut at the Olympic Park in Beijing in 2014, Formula E has evolved into a global entertainment brand with motorsport at its core. With twelve teams and 24 drivers competing, the championship has become a destination for the best teams and drivers in motorsport.

As the official logistics partner of Formula E, DHL has taken on the task of moving Formula E teams and travel infrastructure around the globe as efficiently as possible.
