Since 2002, the technology developer Anronaut, under the leadership of Sjur Vestli, has been working independently of vehicle manufacturers and technology partners on autonomous transport systems and mobile robotics. Now, Linde Material Handling has acquired the Swiss company.
Regardless of the current robotics hype, Anronaut has been continuously developing the technology of autonomous devices and controllers for over 20 years. "Anronaut's long-standing experience and high level of expertise," they state, "allow us to find the optimal solution for customer-specific and reliable ATS for our clients." This also looks like a strategically promising solution for Linde MH.

Linde Material Handling reports that the acquisition, undertaken as part of a strategic effort to strengthen its mobile automation business and expand its product portfolio, has been successfully completed. Through this acquisition, the group gains valuable expertise and simultaneously strengthens its market position in offering automation solutions for demanding applications. With a particular focus on innovative solutions in the field of automated narrow-aisle forklifts (especially "man-down") and automated equipment for refrigerated areas down to -28 degrees Celsius, Anronaut has developed unique expertise.
“The acquisition of Anronaut marks a significant milestone in expanding our automation expertise and our solutions portfolio,” says Rolf Huber, Managing Director of Linde Material Handling Switzerland. “We are excited about the opportunities this merger offers to better serve our customers and further solidify our position as a leading provider.”.

Anronaut software, for example, is used to create simulations to model the future use of mobile automation devices. Based on this data, interfaces to other systems can be tested even before commissioning and later implemented in a time-saving manner. Thanks to the integrated control logic, future transport concepts can be optimized and tested before the project starts, based on layouts (alternatively: route maps), distances, time, desired availability, order priority, etc.
Anronaut's solutions will continue to be offered throughout Europe. Rolf Huber: "Customers and partners can rely on the familiar quality and reliability, which is supported by the group's respective country organizations. Through the acquisition, customers also benefit from future-proof solutions within a large, globally active organization.".
