Back in 2022, Jungheinrich had already increased its stake in the Munich-based robotics specialist Magazino to 21.7 percent. Now, the Hamburg-based company has acquired all shares held by the founders and the previous co-shareholders (including Cellcom, Fiege Logistics and Körber) with immediate effect.
The transaction became effective immediately upon signing this week. The purchase price remains confidential. Magazino will continue to grow as an independent company within Jungheinrich, leveraging the group's global sales and service network. The company will continue to be managed by its founders, Frederik Brantner and Lukas Zanger, along with Moritz Tenorth.
Jungheinrich says the complete acquisition of Magazino is another strategically important step in strengthening its automation expertise. Founded in 2014, Magazino employs around 130 people and considers itself well-positioned with "one of Europe's largest development teams in mobile robotics." Its technology platform, which enables logistics robots to operate in mixed human-machine environments, allows robots to navigate intelligently in warehouses and to grasp and transport objects with precision.

Magazino's system and robots are already in use in the warehouses of various industrial customers, online retailers, and logistics service providers. The control software for robots in complex logistics environments is also already integrated into Jungheinrich's EAEa – the fully automated low-lift pallet truck that was presented for the first time at this year's LogiMAT intralogistics trade fair.
“We have been working closely with Magazino for several years, know each other well and communicate as equals. The chemistry is right. Now we are taking the next logical step in our collaboration and acquiring Magazino completely,” said Jungheinrich CEO Lars Brzoska.
