Reinforcements for the Gulf States

January 31, 2023

Countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have become key players in global supply chains. The landmark project has proven to be a successful entry point. Dematic is expanding its presence in Abu Dhabi with the opening of a second office.

“Thanks to its central location and its major ports, which have developed into a significant economic engine over the years, the UAE has traditionally been an important hub,” explains Rainer Schmid, Regional Market Manager for the Middle East at Dematic. “As the region continues to expand its status as a global trading hub, it is important for companies like ours to have a corresponding presence.”

The new Abu Dhabi office is located in the Musaffah industrial zone in southwest Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE's key economic centers. Dematic's Dubai office is located in the Mazyd Mall.
Both locations are managed by the Dematic sales team in Dubai, consisting of Mithun Perinchery, Head of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, and Thomas Rosenau, Installation and Customer Service.

“We gained greater recognition through the automation of the Landmark Group’s state-of-the-art premium distribution center,” explains Mithun Perinchery, Head of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa. Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in Dubai, the facility consolidates inventory and directly supplies regional warehouses in the Gulf region, as well as stores and consumers. Dematic’s goal is to establish itself as a partner for intralogistics automation and software throughout the Middle East. Perinchery adds, “Our expertise requires a local presence, which necessitates the establishment of offices in key markets.”

As previously reported, Perinchery and Rosenau opened an office in Dubai in 2021, located in the European Business Center at Dubai Investments Park. Rosenau, who has been with Dematic since 2006, has worked in Dubai since 2017. He started as a project manager for the Landmark project before taking over responsibility for installation, customer service, and general management in the United Arab Emirates. Perinchery has been working in the UAE for 15 years and joined Dematic in 2021. Prior to joining Dematic, he gained extensive experience in managing intralogistics automation systems.
