Packaging protects the goods, serves as an advertising medium, and must be easy to handle. Material and production costs play a role, and recycling is becoming increasingly important. The SVI Packaging Institute trains professionals who design packaging and plan production at specialist and management levels.
Packaging managers hold leadership positions in the packaging industry, whether at packaging manufacturers or filling and packaging plants. They reconcile the various functional and aesthetic requirements of packaging and are knowledgeable about the materials, complex systems, and technologies used in the packaging industry. Furthermore, they possess the necessary expertise to assume business management responsibilities.
