Combilift promotes new career paths

Shortly before Christmas, Simon Harris awarded the forklift manufacturer in the "Large Companies" category title of Employer of the Year 2020 for its training programs the. The Irish Minister for Education and Science highlighted the company's involvement in new training pathways.

Combilift considers itself the world's largestmanufacturer of multi-directional forklifts and the market leader in solutions for handling long loads. Since its founding in 1998, Combilift has sold more than 50,000 units in over 85 countries. Currently, more than 600 peoplethe company locally employs.

Combilift currently has trainees in a number of training programs such as electrical engineering, metalworking and "The Original Engineering Manufacturing Apprenticeship" (OEM).

Not a humorous "Limerick" quip, but a genuine recognition came two days before Christmas with the presentation by Martin O'Brien, CEO of the Limerick Clare Education and Training Board (LMETB) and member of the Apprenticeship Council . O'Brien admittedhe was "very impressed with Combilifts' facilities and the environment in which the apprentices are located. I am very impressed with the progress being made in OEM training."

The Consortium Steering Committee (CSG), in collaboration with the Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB), the LMETB and other vocational training associations, referred to Combilift CEO Martin Mc Vicar's commitment to the development of the new OEM training program.
