GS1 Switzerland is once again organizing the Swiss Logistics Day, which will be held throughout Europe as a "Supply Chain" day and will also be held in Germany with a strong focus on information technology, digitalization, and online commerce. Hygiene standards included.

"While many around the world are condemned to stay at home," it is said in Bern, "the logistics industry is facing major challenges due to the lockdown and the associated shift in consumption to e-commerce."

Logistics is no longer reduced to transport, handling and storage, as it encompasses the planning and control of all information and material flows between customers and suppliers, within and between companies.

In Switzerland alone, the industry generated approximately CHF 40 billion in revenue and employed 185,000 people in 2019. On the national day of action, companies use the opportunity to hold an "open day" and provide insights into their work.
