Blasting technology: "We clear the way"

April 15, 2024

J. Biese

Jürg Biese (52) is the new deputy managing director at Gasser Felstechnik. The blasting experts – often called upon when avalanches disrupt traffic – were already recipients of the "Public Award" at the Swiss Logistics Prize in 2006. Biese comes from Implenia and completes the four-member management team.

After graduating with a degree in civil engineering from ETH Zurich, Jürg Biese primarily worked on large-scale tunnel construction and infrastructure projects. He spent 26 years at Implenia in various roles, most recently as Market Manager for Central Switzerland/South and Head of the Central Switzerland Construction Unit. Now, several longtime colleagues are coming together. Biese explains: "I've known Hanspeter Bonetti (Vice Chairman of the Board) since I worked on the Flüelen bypass tunnel project from 2001 to 2006. I also worked with Matthias von Ah (CEO) back in 2005 on tenders for the renovation of railway tunnels and pressure galleries." He adds that they have always appreciated the strong team spirit on every project they've worked on together.

Biese: "I get the impression that at Gasser Felstechnik, at least technically, there's nothing that's impossible." His second home is the Aletsch region, specifically the Riederalp, where he has spent a great deal of time over the past 50 years. Running, skiing, tennis, and windsurfing are his passions.
