Silke Fischer only took over as chair of the management board of the German Logistics Association (BVL) two months ago. Her term was intended to be short-lived. Now her contract has been terminated, as she feels she would be better suited to a different role given her previous career path.
The BVL board stated that the contract was terminated "by mutual agreement between the executive committee and Silke Fischer." Fischer explained, "I realized that I feel more at home in the private sector and that managing an association doesn't align well with my experience in the logistics industry.".
BVL Chairman Kai Althoff: “We thank Silke Fischer for her great commitment and wish her all the best for the future. We will consistently continue on the path we have embarked upon to renew the BVL.” The office will now initially be managed solely by Managing Director Christoph Meyer.
