TGW Logistics is beginning the expansion of its Austrian headquarters with the start of construction on a new production hall, a highly automated warehouse system, and a parking garage. Despite the current challenging economic environment, the company plans to invest €100 million as a commitment to the location.

The expansion, scheduled for completion by 2026, is intended to lay the foundation for the future development of the automation provider. CEO Henry Puhl, along with Upper Austrian Governor Thomas Stelzer and Paul Mahr, Mayor of Marchtrenk, were able to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony.

The «Evolution Park» is the international headquarters of TGW Logistics – and, alongside Wels, the technology company's second Austrian location. Of its 4,400 employees worldwide, 2,500 work in Upper Austria, and its export quota is 97 percent.

By summer 2026, TGW Logistics will have invested in a 25,000 m² production building and a highly automated warehouse system. Shuttle robots, stacker cranes, and pallet conveyor technology, among other products, will be manufactured in the new facilities and exported worldwide.

The new warehouse consists of a shuttle system for containers, where robots handle the storage and retrieval of components at lightning speed, and a high-bay warehouse with 11,000 pallet spaces. Mobile TGW robots transport the components fully autonomously to the next stage after retrieval

Assembly sites.

TGW Logistics is prioritizing local companies, regional value creation, and sustainability in the construction. "Heat pumps handle the heating and cooling of the buildings," emphasizes Henry Puhl, Chief Executive Officer of TGW Logistics. "Thanks to the 7,200 m² photovoltaic system, we can cover our entire electricity demand with environmentally friendly solar power under optimal conditions."

“TGW Logistics was founded in 1969 as a small metalworking shop with ten employees in Wels. Today, we have 24 locations on three continents, serve customers worldwide, and are among the leading intralogistics specialists,” adds Puhl. “Nevertheless, we remain firmly rooted in Upper Austria. (…) Despite the challenging economic conditions, we are investing

“Quite deliberately at this time,” he emphasizes. “For us, it’s clear: Intralogistics is a future-oriented industry with enormous potential. With this expansion, we are laying the foundation to be able to utilize this potential in the coming years.”
