After two years of declining parcel volumes, Swiss Post sorted 22.3 million parcels in December – that is between two and three shipments per capita of its 8.85 million inhabitants, and thus, according to its own figures, 3.5 percent more than in the previous year, with up to 1 million parcels per day in some areas.
Employees in branches, logistics centers, and offices also demonstrated great dedication to serving customers. Post CEO Roberto Cirillo said: “I am impressed and proud of all the employees who tirelessly managed this enormous volume of shipments to ensure they arrived on time for Christmas. A huge thank you to everyone!”
The peak day was December 3, 2024. On that day, almost 1.3 million packages were processed, more than ever before in a single day.

The "2 x Christmas" charity campaign for people affected by poverty is taking place again this year. Until January 18, 2025, the Swiss Red Cross, SRG SSR, Swiss Post, and Coop are collecting donation packages for people affected by poverty. During this period, Swiss Post will accept donation packages containing non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and toiletries free of charge at all its branches and all partner locations.
