Gently tip it out of the bowl

Sensitive shipping materials should not be handled like bulk goods. Ferag has further developed its "Denisort" tilting tray sorter. Recent improvements now allow it to handle weights of up to 30 kg and, thanks to the tray design with plastic flaps, operate more quietly.

The principle of a tilting tray sorter, as the name suggests, is to transport and sort products in trays. This method is already relatively gentle on the goods and minimizes the risk of damage to delicate or fragile items. Clever features from Ferag, such as the tray mat function for items of varying dimensions and a gentle tilting mechanism that prevents products from sliding uncontrollably, further guarantee damage-free handling. Thanks to its careful design, irregularly shaped, lightweight, round, or sensitive products, and even polybags, pose no problem.

The ferag.denisort tilting tray sorter is now designed to move three-dimensionally through buildings and across multiple levels. This makes it possible to tackle even complex intralogistics challenges, as it can be easily integrated into vertical structures and thus traverse different floors.

If a sorter is operated on two levels and the trays are refilled before each of the chutes onto which items can be discharged from both sorter strands, astonishingly high throughput rates of up to 15,000 items per hour can be achieved.

The solution impresses with its scalability. Thanks to its high modularity and extensive component catalog, the system allows for the initial introduction of manual processes with minimal investment, which can then be gradually automated, for example by retrofitting the induction belt to an automatic conveyor belt or expanding the number of end points.

Outbound applications are supported by the ferag.denisort. With various (standard) terminal options, including a 30 kg chute that slows down heavy packages to protect smaller ones, or a double-decker chute, the system adapts flexibly to requirements. Thanks to its extensive expertise, Ferag is also able to design and manufacture customized terminals tailored to the individual needs of its customers. Additionally, the system can be seamlessly integrated with Skyfall or a pick tower
