TMHE LogiMAT 2025

The New Year is fast approaching, and so is LogiMAT, Europe's largest trade fair for intralogistics and process management, taking place from March 11th to 13th in Stuttgart. Toyota MH is well-prepared with new forklift models, automated solutions, and innovations.

“In Europe, over five million people work in the logistics sector – they work in warehouses, drive forklifts, deliver packages, or operate sophisticated IT systems,” explains Mark Peters, Marketing Director at Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE). “The pandemic, in particular, has demonstrated the enormous importance of the logistics industry in supplying more than 750 million people on the European continent with their daily necessities – from food, clothing, and medicine to raw materials and factory supplies. For all these companies, Toyota Material Handling is the reliable partner they need to succeed in their business. This is what we mean by ‘we deliver for you’ in our daily work.” The traditional image of a warehouse is evolving rapidly as digital control systems, automation, and advanced security measures become the norm. This shift towards smarter solutions improves efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in the storage, picking, and transport of goods.

Even company founder Sakichi Toyoda, and later Taiichi Ohno, architect of the Toyota Production System (TPS), consistently focused on the needs of their customers. This served as their inspiration for innovations that have significantly shaped the industry. "For decades, as a global market leader, we have pursued one goal: to provide our customers with a decisive competitive advantage through our innovative intralogistics solutions," says Jan Lorenz, Managing Director of Toyota Material Handling Germany (TMHDE). "The efficiency of internal material flow is crucial for enabling our customers to fully concentrate on their core and day-to-day business. We cover the entire range up to eight tons of lifting capacity. Automated solutions and our single-source system integration, along with a rental fleet of 4,000 forklifts and customer service with over 650 service technicians in Germany alone, guarantee that our customers can always rely on maximum operational readiness in their warehouses. We call this 'we deliver for you'."

“Furthermore, we actively support our customers and partners in their transformation towards Industry 4.0 and sustainability,” adds Martina Möller, Head of Sales, Logistics Solutions and Digitalization at TMHDE. “Whether it’s switching to energy-efficient lithium-ion batteries or hydrogen fuel cells, partially or fully automating warehouses, or digitizing processes with fleet management systems like Toyota i_Site – we offer tailor-made solutions. We place particular emphasis on supporting software solutions that significantly improve transparency, efficiency, energy balance, and security in the warehouse.”

With "The Lab," Toyota Material Handling (TMH) has once again created an exclusive area at its LogiMAT booth where customers and interested parties can gain insights into the near and distant future of intralogistics. For years, the company has been investing heavily in research and development as well as in collaborations with leading companies to shape this future, which will be characterized by robots, drones, and autonomous vehicles.

Toyota LogiMAT 2025 Hans LarssonH. Larsson

Hans Larsson, Director of Strategic Innovation at Toyota Material Handling Europe, will present his vision for addressing the industry's strategic challenges in the coming years at the LogiMAT Expert Forum on Wednesday, March 12th. He will recognize that, given the complexity of the future, no single company can tackle all challenges alone. For this reason, Toyota will introduce its new innovation concept, "Logiconomi Connections," designed to bring fresh thinking and creativity to the logistics industry.

“Innovation is key to remaining relevant in the logistics world, which is more complex and fast-paced than ever before,” says Hans Larsson. “What trends and developments will shape the future of logistics? This question is at the heart of our innovation and development work. For our annual trend report, we use numerous high-quality sources to gain insights that enable us and our customers to make well-informed decisions for the future.”

Toyota has been using automation in the form of driverless transport systems and software solutions for decades, consistently developing them further with technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). LogiMAT visitors can experience what modern automation is all about at the heart of the TMH booth. Alongside a shuttle racking system used for high-density and space-saving storage, various Toyota Autopilot systems will demonstrate their orchestrated interaction during storage and retrieval.

With Swarm Automation Go and Swarm Automation Storage, TMH is also introducing two new automation solutions: As a rental solution, Swarm Automation Go makes it easier for customers to get started with automation. Designed for palletized goods, Swarm Automation Storage combines three proven components from the comprehensive intralogistics solution provider. The automated storage and retrieval system eliminates aisles between pallet racks, thus enabling storage density to be increased by up to 80%.

Mattias Allring, Director of Automation Product Management at TMHE, will also share his expertise on the topic of automation at the LogiMAT Expert Forum on Tuesday, March 11th.

The strategic investment by Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) in the robotics and AI company Gideon, finalized in autumn 2024, will also be part of the automation presentation. Thanks to impressive image processing modules that promise flexible autonomous behavior as well as high user-friendliness and ease of use, Toyota Material Handling will offer its customers significant added value in the coming years.

“As Europe’s leading trade fair for intralogistics and process management, LogiMAT offers the ideal platform to present our innovations,” says Jan Lorenz. “With three new product launches in the forklift truck and warehouse technology categories, LogiMAT visitors can expect a lot from us. Energy efficiency, ergonomics, and safety are particular focus areas.”

“Toyota Material Handling’s leading role in sustainability within the logistics industry is demonstrated, not least, by the latest results of the EcoVadis sustainability rating,” explains Lida Barekzai, Sustainability Specialist and Project Manager at TMHDE. “TMHE and TMHDE were awarded the Platinum medal at both the European and national levels, placing them among the top 1% of the more than 100,000 companies analyzed worldwide. We have already proactively prepared our current sustainability report in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), even though these will only become mandatory for companies of our size from 2026 onwards.”

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) acquired Vanderlande, a global player in future-proof logistics process automation for warehouses, airports, and parcel services, back in 2017. This was followed in 2022 by a merger with the Stuttgart-based systems integrator Viastore, which visitors can discover at a second booth (Hall 10, Booth H48) directly next to the Toyota Material Handling booth.
