With its approximately 340 employees in Hirschthal, Jungheinrich can now point to the fact that all of its electricity is generated from renewable energy sources and the company roof is completely covered with solar panels. All 150 service vehicles are to be converted to electric operation.
Jungheinrich is also increasingly focusing on electromobility within its own operations: 60% of the industrial trucks sold are already equipped with state-of-the-art lithium-ion technology. This technology is continuously optimized to reduce energy consumption and further lower CO2 emissions in the logistics sector.
In addition to reducing emissions, Jungheinrich consistently pursues the principle of the circular economy. Reconditioned forklifts offer a sustainable alternative to new vehicles and extend the product lifespan.

On April 14, 2025, the first of a total of 46 new electric vehicles was officially handed over to a service technician. In the medium term, all 150 vehicles belonging to all service technicians will be converted to electric buses. "Our goal is to operate all 150 service vehicles emission-free," explains Mirko Studer, Head of Customer Service and member of the management board.
Sustainability is not a trend for us, but an obligation, emphasizes Studer. "We continuously invest in environmentally friendly innovations and set ourselves ambitious goals."
Jungheinrich employs over 20,000 people worldwide in 42 countries. Since its founding in 1960, Jungheinrich Switzerland has developed into one of the market leaders and now employs over 340 people.
