As this year's CeMATAsiaDeutsche in Shanghai demonstrated, European technology remains a crucial factor for markets in the Far East. The Kion Group, with its AI and NVIDIA products, was once again in high demand at the three-day event, organized by Messe(Hanover) in cooperation with partners .

Business with Asia – and especially intralogistics – has never been a one-way street. Visitors to Shanghai recently witnessed firsthand how AI-controlled industrial trucks and digital twins are fundamentally transforming supply chain processes.
Third largest provider
Based on 2023 revenue, the KION Group, for example, remains the leading foreign manufacturer and third-largest supplier in China KION.hasJust in time for CeMAT in Shanghai, the presentation of the "Omniverse" enhanced with deeper system integration and advanced autonomy capabilities, resulting from KION's ongoing collaboration with NVIDIA and Accenture. This marks a milestone for in its efforts to establish its material flow standard worldwide .

In Shanghai, Linde Material Handling demonstrated a fully integrated solution for goods receiving and dispatch in a warehouse on a spacious exhibition area , including truck loading with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and a manual forklift – all supported by AI, of course. One of the AMRs was a third-party vehicle, demonstrating seamless compatibility.
Wanted: Interoperable systems
This aligns with Kion's commitment to open, interoperable systems and customer flexibility. "Physical AI translates data into action and coordinates people, robots, and systems to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and reliably plan layouts. We are transforming warehouses into living, learning ecosystems," says Kion CEO Rob Smith.
Real-time interest at the Asian trade fair
The entire showcase was digitally presented in NVIDIA's "Omniverse" and demonstrated the real-timelocalization of the industrial trucks. Onboard and stationary cameras with NVIDIA hardware capture and process live operational data. The solution operates in a constantly evolving simulation environment and paves the way for large-scale optimization of vehicle coordination and route planning .
Continuous development
As they did at LogiMAT in Germany and the GTC AI conference in the USA, Kion, NVIDIA and Accenture are jointly redefining how automation can be further developed, tested and used with the help of physical AI.

Using intelligent stationary cameras, autonomous forklifts and the latest automation and robotics solutions, the digital twins are created highly realistically in real time in the "Omniverse", which is fed by live data from the sensors and cameras: to play through scenarios in advance, find the best layouts for new warehouses and accelerate decisions.
Based on sales in 2023, Kion is the leading foreign producer in China and, including domestic manufacturers, the third largest supplier.
Leading trade fair in Asia
Since the first event in 1999, CeMAT in Asia has developed further every year and has now become the leading logistics trade fairwith over 900 exhibitors, including SEW Eurodrive, Kardex, Siemens, SSI Schäfer, Sick, Cognex, Lenze, Kuka, Dematic, TGW, Swisslog, Daifuku, Apollo, Hairobotics and Leuze in the Far Eastern market

Together with the «Industrial Fair Network» , CeMAT Asia now attracts more than 140,000 trade visitors, including from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
In addition, a high-profile conference, the «CeMAT Asia Innovation Salon», brings together over 4000 current topics such as pharmaceutical logistics, vehicle logistics, global market trends and discuss
