The "hit" under the hall ceiling

February 7, 2025

Ceilix LogiMAT 2025

A patented modular overhead crane system from a supplier called CeiliX, designed to revolutionize the logistics and manufacturing industries, will debut at LogiMAT with an "Infinity Crane." It allows for use in areas that could not be reached by conventional cranes.

In the near future, CeiliX will enable robots to move freely along the ceiling, thus bringing greater efficiency, flexibility, and space savings to production and logistics. The InfinityCrane can move completely freely in all directions – forwards, backwards, sideways, or diagonally – without any spatial restrictions. According to the manufacturer, even obstacles such as columns in the room pose no problem.

The CeiliX technology is based on a modular, ceiling-mounted rail system. It can be installed quickly, flexibly adapted to any room using a building block principle, and easily expanded as requirements grow. Multiple InfinityCranes can be used in the same room simultaneously without interfering with each other. This enables new functions, such as rotating objects in mid-air.

However, CeiliX technology can do much more than crane applications. Equipped with various tools such as robotic arms, lifting devices, and sensors, the overhead vehicles are intended to be able to take over tasks in the future that previously required separate machines or manual labor.

In several cases, savings of 30 to 50 percent of storage or production space are possible by moving transport routes from the floor to the ceiling.

New dimension

“By unlocking the ceiling as a new dimension for free movement, we are revolutionizing processes in factories, warehouses, and businesses,” explains Mathias Entenmann, co-founder and CEO of CeiliX. The world’s first prototype has been in use in a showroom in Euskirchen since 2024.

Visitors to LogiMAT 2025 can attend live demonstrations at the CeiliX booth.

CeiliX also offers a "SkyRunner" in several versions. The first available version is approved for a payload of 250 kg. Versions for 500 kg and more are in development.

CeiliX was founded in 2024 by Torsten Siedel, Mathias Entenmann and Lisa Seipp and has already raised over two million euros in pre-seed funding.
