Frankfurt hosts a leading trade fair for the international meat and protein industry called IFFA. Intralogistics provider Dematic will be presenting intelligent automation technology for the storage, order picking, and processing of fresh food products for the meat and protein industry there from May 3rd to 8th.
This doesn't mean the exhibition halls will become a slaughterhouse. Rather, Dematic wants to demonstrate how innovative technologies can be used – but certainly with concrete customer examples,” explains Soeren Schauki, Business Development Manager at Dematic.
Dematic will be presenting, among other things, automated storage solutions for pallets, containers, cartons, and packages. A highlight will be a multi-shuttle meat buffer solution, specifically designed for refrigerated and deep-frozen environments and meeting demanding requirements for traceability and throughput rates.

Another focus is on warehouse automation for suppliers to the meat and protein industry, such as mechanical engineering companies and retailers. These companies benefit from scalable solutions for material supply, component storage, and product ranges, from barbecue accessories to packaging materials. This includes compact systems like AutoStore for high-density storage of small parts, as well as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for flexible transport processes. "Automated solutions increase safety, optimize storage and retrieval processes, and boost both efficiency and productivity. This allows meat processing and storage chains to be sustainably transformed to meet dynamic market demands," says Schauki.
