Genebre is the name of the manufacturer of high-quality valves and fittings for fluid control, premium taps for industrial applications, kitchens and bathrooms, which TGW Logistics has now helped to achieve new speeds in its distribution center in Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).
TGW supported Genebre's central distribution hub with faster order processing, optimized space utilization, and improved workplace ergonomics. The customized solution begins in goods receiving, where pallets are received and transported to a three-aisle, high-density small parts warehouse. The latter serves as the backbone of order picking, with Mustang E+ stacker cranes handling storage and retrieval.
Key components
Orders are assembled at ergonomic workstations. TGW Logistics' Warehouse Control System (WCS) orchestrates all processes and enables Genebre to automate more than 50% of its order processing.
A key component is the TGW Logistics portal robot, which handles the assembly of customer orders. This future-proof system manages five different carton sizes with a maximum weight of 25 kg and performs up to 170 cycles per hour. The robot can prepare 29 Euro pallets simultaneously and also automatically provides empty pallets to ensure seamless order picking.

“We chose TGW Logistics because the company offers a comprehensive solution and has extensive experience in building high-performance logistics centers,” explains José Piedrafita, Chief Operating Officer of Genebre. “Automation ensures that we can offer our customers a consistent level of service, regardless of order volume. Furthermore, scalability allows us to expand as needed without interrupting operations.”
Following the successful go-live, Genebre benefits from TGW Logistics' lifetime services offering. The program includes technical support, preventative maintenance, and a spare parts package to ensure smooth operation.
