Thomas Müller takes over

June 2, 2025

Gilgen CEO DL 310Th. Müller

Gilgen Logistics is strengthening its German business with the appointment of Thomas Müller as the new Managing Director in Dortmund. The intralogistics provider has already been present in Germany for several years with two locations: a development center for storage and retrieval systems in Stuttgart and a customer service center in Dortmund.

Thomas Müller will take over as Managing Director in Dortmund starting in June 2025. The Dortmund office has primarily focused on service to date. With Thomas Müller as Managing Director, Dortmund will also assume key sales responsibilities for market development in Germany, thus contributing to the next stage of growth.

Thomas Müller (41), a trained mechanical engineer, has many years of management and sales experience in the logistics, automation, and mechanical engineering sectors. He combines strong technical skills with practical, entrepreneurial expertise.

Throughout his career, he has successfully managed complex sales and service organizations operationally and strategically – most recently as Head of Account Management at Swisslog, where he was responsible for an extensive customer portfolio and led a large multinational team. "We are delighted to have gained a highly experienced professional in Thomas Müller for Gilgen Logistics and to be able to drive the expansion of our activities in Germany with him," says Daniel Gilgen, CEO of Gilgen Logistics.

“We want to provide our customers in Germany with closer support throughout the entire lifecycle of their systems – from initial contact and solution development to commissioning, service, and support.” Gilgen Logistics’ German locations focus on automated intralogistics systems for pallets and small goods – particularly conveyor technology, stacker cranes, and high-bay warehouse solutions. The family-owned company employs around 200 people at its locations in Oberwangen (headquarters) and Brislach (Switzerland), as well as Dortmund and Stuttgart (Germany).
