Following the bronze medal in 2023 (with 61 out of 100 points), which was already considered a success, and another year of continuous measures in the areas of environment, ethics, labor and human rights as well as sustainable procurement, SSI Schäfer is celebrating the silver medal this year.
As the company management notes, the intralogistics specialist ranks among the top 15% of assessed companies. Since its founding in 2007, EcoVadis has developed into a globally respected provider of sustainability classifications for companies and now has a network of more than 150,000 assessed companies.
The goal is to provide reliable, globally recognized sustainability assessments and insights that enable all companies to reduce risks, drive improvements, and accelerate positive impacts on our planet and society.
The rating and the award of the silver medal are significant for SSI Schäfer not only with regard to the company's own sustainability management. It also influences future business relationships. "Our customers increasingly value transparent and sustainable business practices and, in some cases, require a successful EcoVadis rating as a basis for a business relationship," says Heiko Stötzel, Global Head of Group Social Responsibility at SSI Schäfer.
Like many larger, internationally operating companies, SSI Schäfer also uses the EcoVadis platform to have its business partners assessed according to a standardized set of criteria, thus gaining transparency in global supply chains.
