Automation specialist SSI Schäfer welcomed over 20 consultants and supply chain experts from the DA-CHregion to its technology center in Giebelstadt near Würzburg for a dedicated intralogistics day featuring exclusive presentations and live demos of the RackBot System and the FastBots Solution.
The event fostered knowledge transfer, exchange, and networking. The agenda included industry requirements, smart automation, and innovations and solutions from the Schäfer Group's systems portfolio. A highlight in the area of mobile robotics was the live demonstration of the RackBot system.
Live demonstrations
The advantage of combining RackBot and a racking system: In goods-to-person areas, storage density and throughput can be significantly increased compared to conventional systems. Thanks to the plug-and-play principle, RackBot systems can be quickly and easily integrated into existing warehouse environments. The solution grows with requirements and can be easily expanded.
Furthermore, the live presentation of the FastBots solution was impressive: The fleet of high-performance robots moves flexibly between the warehouse and workstations, transporting various load carriers such as trays, cartons, containers, or polybags. An intelligent fleet controller provides precise control, enables free movement within the space, optimizes routes in real time, and ensures a smooth material flow – instead of rigid conveyor technology. The result is a highly dynamic, scalable automation solution that can be adapted to changing requirements at any time.
Extremely adaptable
“Decisions in intralogistics are major steps for companies, requiring a great deal of trust in the partners involved,” said Peter Edelmann, CEO of the group, regarding the positive response to the newly established event series. “Events like the ‘Day of Intralogistics’ are an important component of this commitment.”
