In Hagendorn in the canton of Zug, Bito is building one of the largest and most modern mobile cantilever racking systems in Switzerland for G. Baumgartner, a supplier of high-quality wood and metal window solutions. The carriages are fully synchronized by an intelligent NT-CH control system.

With the aim of storing sashes and window frames safely and in a minimal space, the high-performance system is equipped with a total of 17 individually controllable racking systems and 33 trolleys. It is described as a model project for the entire industry. Project implementation has been underway since September 2025.
Integrated personal protection
“This major project impressively demonstrates how sophisticated technology, high manufacturing quality and practical control systems significantly increase efficiency and safety in warehousing,” explains Daniel Böhm, Delegate of the Bito Board of Directors.

Special attention will also be paid to safety and operating standards. These include an integrated personnel protection system, an emergency stop at every operating station, acoustic and visual warning signals for every carriage movement, intuitive controls with clear user guidance, as well as commissioning and training directly by Bito.
Strengths combined
“The fact that two long-established family businesses like G. Baumgartner and Bito-Lagertechnik are combining their strengths makes this project special. Both companies have stood for quality, innovation and reliability for generations; values that unite us and that are also evident in the realization of this unique solution,” adds company head Stefan Baumgartner.

Together, they are setting a milestone in Hagendorn: With one of the largest mobile cantilever racking systems in Switzerland, they are creating a logistics solution that sets new standards and once again lives up to the claim of being measurably better.
Next week, on Saturday, October 25th, the innovation project named after the company founder Gottfried Baumgartner, the Green Factory with one of the largest solar installations in Switzerland on the roof, and 200 years of history will be celebrated with an extensive program and tours.
935 windows for the Malley Tilia Tower
Baumgartner himself sees his new building as a milestone in sustainability. He also realizes large-scale projects such as the Malley Tilia Tower for HRS Real Estate in Prilly near Lausanne (see photo), for which, for example, 935 windows were needed, or the 2017 conversion of the SBG Schönburg into the new district center for Losinger Marazzi in Bern, for which 951 windows were installed.
