Mega-project for Galaxus

March 3, 2026

TGW is setting up the new fulfillment center for Galaxus in Neuenburg am Rhein. A highly automated combination of shuttle system, automated small parts warehouse (AS/RS), and pocket sorter will supply the existing warehouse in Wohlen (Aargau) – as well as e-commerce customers in Switzerland and Germany.

TGW Logistics impressed in a multi-stage tendering process with its expertise in large-scale projects and its structure as a foundation-owned company. The automation experts promise a high-performance combination of shuttle, automated small parts warehouse (AS/RS), and pocket sorter, resulting in reduced throughput times and accelerated delivery.

The flagship project is scheduled to go into operation gradually from 2027. According to the company, this is one of the largest orders in TGW Logistics' 56-year history.

39-aisle shuttle warehouse

Galaxus' product range now comprises over ten million items – from electronics and DIY supplies to books. In 2025, Digitec Galaxus, whose majority owner is the Migros Group, achieved a turnover of 3.8 billion Swiss francs.

The high-performance core components are a 39-aisle shuttle warehouse with more than 900,000 storage locations and an automated small parts warehouse with 300,000 storage locations. A pocket sorter handles the sequencing of customer orders. Shipping cartons are automatically sealed before being sent to the shipping area, where they are sorted for truck routes. After go-live, lifetime services specialists from TGW Logistics, together with the Galaxus team, will ensure the system operates reliably and at optimal performance.
