Reunion with Nick Weishaar, Director of Construction Logistics, Management Board of Sitelog Swiss AG and specialist in Off-Site Hub Logistics, an expert from among the nominees for the Swiss Logistics Award 2021. At the GS1 Excellence Days in Bern, he reported on new approaches in construction logistics.
Moderated by Hans Rudolf Hauri and Uwe Ruedel, Weishaar, Michael Bohren of CRB Standards, Marloes Fischer of Madaster Switzerland, and Ivo Bracher of Bonainvest Holding had the opportunity to demonstrate how sustainable construction should be viewed from different perspectives. Particular attention was paid to linking digitalization with traditional construction processes in order to gain a systemic understanding of the entire life cycle of a building. Weishaar: "In order for everyone to shape the future of construction together, in addition to digitalization, we also need to rethink construction site processes and their supply, the labeling and tracking of components, and the integration of the circular economy in early planning phases."
