At the FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg from September 24th to 26th, Bito is launching a new initiative with crates and boxes that reduce the carbon footprint and simultaneously comply with the EU packaging regulations planned for 2030. Made from recycled material as standard, they are quiet and easy to handle.
The new EU Packaging Directive, scheduled to come into force in 2030, even stipulates that certain types of packaging will be banned and that empty volumes in packaging and transport packaging will be limited to the absolute minimum. From then on, it will also be a requirement that more packaging be reusable and recyclable and/or made from recycled materials. Container experts agree that the topic of sustainability and the circular economy of packaging will therefore gain immense importance in the areas of logistics, intralogistics, warehousing, order picking, and transport throughout the EU.
From autumn 2024, the RK series of shelving units will be available as standard in high-quality recycled material. Modern sorting and automated separation processes now produce very robust recycled plastics with a high degree of purity. The resulting containers are therefore not only made from 100% recycled material, but can also be supplied in precisely defined colors and are suitable for both manual and automated use.

Also made from 100% high-quality recycled material are new Ecomotion models, expanding the successful XL-Motion series of quiet-running containers developed for automated warehouses. These containers also feature the new "easy2divide" with slim and quickly interchangeable dividers. Concealed, circumferential drainage openings, a fire safety measure, are integrated so discreetly that they are not visible from the outside, thus preventing malfunctions caused by gaps in the containers being erroneously detected by the conveyor system's sensors.
For several years now, Bito-Lagertechnik has been manufacturing the three most common container sizes of its MB reusable container series from recycled material as standard, under the name MB Eco. The nestable recycling container was "Blue Angel" certified "MB" product line, and to celebrate, it has received an ergonomic facelift. In addition to the end panels, both long sides are now also equipped with grip strips for added ease of handling.
Boxes with internet connection
As a collapsible, reusable container, the EQ collapsible box is not only extremely space-saving during transport and storage when empty. It was specifically designed for industrial and commercial applications, is particularly robust and durable, and therefore especially suitable for use in automated systems. The collapsible box passed the rigorous "ASTM D4169-16"test at VDZ GmbH, the competence and testing center for packaging and transport in Dortmund, with flying colors in spring 2024 – thus passing the test as a transport container with regard to the dynamic mechanical stresses of truck transport.
In addition to the circular economy in the production and application of container systems, automation and data transparency in transport monitoring are playing an increasingly important role. With the new IOB (Internet of Bins & Containers) service, the status of Bito containers can be continuously recorded, monitored, and managed throughout the material flow, ensuring automated transparency.
