Vacuum expert Schmalz is preparing for this year's FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg from September 24th to 26th, showcasing new gripper solutions such as the PSPF bellows suction cup. With its high-strength, two-component connection between the bellows and sealing lip, it securely grips extremely thin and flexible bags.
Its strength lies in all packaging applications that are wholly or partially filled with liquids or bulk materials. Typical applications include dynamic packaging processes with delta robots or pick-and-place applications. The suction gripper is made of FDA-compliant silicone and is approved for food contact.
The lightweight ZLW layer gripper is also being launched. It handles various workpieces up to 35 kg, such as packages, bags, jars, cans, and buckets. The gripping area measures a maximum of 850 × 650 mm. The system is suitable for automated end-of-line (EOL) palletizing processes with lightweight robots, as well as for pick-and-place applications in production. The suction grid can be adjusted to the size of the item. This allows companies to achieve highly efficient vacuum generation and save costs because no pressure losses need to be compensated for.
End-of-Arm (EoA) deployment
Schmalz is also launching its new RECBi pneumatic vacuum generators for end-of-arm (EoA) applications on lightweight robots, cobots, and conventional 6-axis robots. They handle dense and porous workpieces in processes with short cycle times and evacuation times. Thanks to the adjustable PXT gripping system, they can be quickly adapted to different applications. The vacuum generators are also available for the multifunctional MATCH EoA platform, which enables automated gripper changes.
