It's been a few years since Dematic installed a seven-aisle multishuttle system with 90,000 container storage locations and 217 multishuttles in the Allgäu region for Ceratizit, a supplier of hard material solutions for machining and wear protection. Now there's an opportunity to visit the plant in Kempten.
On September 12, participants can experience the hard metal manufacturer's automated warehouse live in action and gain insights into the project, which perfects space-saving multi-deep storage. Information will also be provided on-site about the SAP integration and other current projects. "The manufacturing industry is characterized by short production times, strict delivery deadlines, and minimal error tolerances. Our successful collaboration with Ceratizit demonstrates that companies can significantly increase their efficiency with our automation solutions," says Dematic Sales Director Rainer Schmid.

Dematic designed the state-of-the-art, seven-aisle multi-shuttle warehouse specifically for Ceratizit, tailoring it precisely to their requirements. Thanks to its high degree of automation, the system ensures error-free order picking and reliable order processing, even at high throughput rates of up to 570 containers per hour.
The customer open day will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this time, visitors can experience the intralogistics system in operation during a guided tour. Axel Pracht, Head of Central Distribution Center EU, will also provide detailed insights into the project development and other projects in the EMEA region.
The system and the entire material flow are controlled by SAP EWM software, which was also specifically customized to Ceratizit's requirements.
