Using approximately 450 million kg of milk from 2,200 farmers in the region, the Lower Austrian dairy NÖM produces a wide range of dairy products, yogurt, butter, and quark. Kardex Mlog is now slated to build a fully automated shipping warehouse with comprehensive conveyor technology and 26,000 pallet spaces.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project took place in June

As general contractor, Kardex Mlog is also coordinating the steel racking construction, the roof and wall cladding, and the delivery of two electric monorail systems. Groundbreaking took place on June 23rd, and acceptance is scheduled for April 2027.

NÖM, a public limited company based in Baden near Vienna, offers a product range of approximately 1,000 items and supplies  customers throughout Europe. Its main sales markets are in eastern Austria and northern Italy.

Expectations have risen

With a current average daily handling volume of 2,200 pallets, the logistics operation has by constructing the new shipping warehouse dynamically growing order volume and the increased demands for speed and precision in .

The project includes the construction of a new logistics center with a fully automated shipping warehouse, including conveyor technology. An electric overhead conveyor system is planned for connection to the outbound goods area. The system is controlled and managed via the SAP EWM material flow and warehouse management system.

“ The new building will not result in any additional sealing of the land, as we are using an existing area and the direct connection of the new warehouse will save us over 10,000 truck journeys per year,” emphasizes Josef Simon, NÖM board member for production and technology and leading the new building project.

NÖM is considered an important employer and partner for agriculture in the region and is also involved in social and environmental projects.
