At the home base of forklift manufacturer Still in Hamburg, twenty charging stations for electric vehicles are currently being installed, which will also be available to company guests, employees, and private users. Twenty more could be added at the same location if the project proves successful.

"We will not only use the new charging stations for our increasingly electrified company vehicle fleet, but will also offer charging options to our employees and visitors as a special service. We are thinking primarily of employees who do not have access to charging at home. We want to enable them to switch to an emission-free vehicle," says Stefan Sanny, who is responsible for facility management at Still. The construction of these charging stations is just the first step. "This is just the first part of an overall project with which we are now creating the infrastructural and procedural possibilities to gradually equip additional locations with electric charging stations." In the medium term, suitable wall boxes at home for the service vehicle fleet and employee company cars will also be included in the charging infrastructure.

Still sources the electricity required for the charging stations – as well as all other electricity – from 'green' sources. "With our new charging stations, we are making a real contribution to reducing CO2 emissions," Sanny says happily. The charging stations can be used with standard charging cards. "We will closely monitor how our new service is used. If it proves successful, we have the option of building another 24 charging stations at the same location," Sanny summarizes.
