It sounds dangerous, but it's a lucrative business for Gebrüder Weiss: The transport and logistics service provider from Vorarlberg is adding another location in Phoenix to its locations in El Paso and Laredo (Texas), which specialize in the cross-border transport of goods to and from Mexico.
Phoenix will handle air and sea freight transport, including customs clearance, as well as land transport of partial and full loads. In 2023, goods worth nearly $20 billion were transported between Arizona and Mexico alone.

The Austrian company is continuously expanding its activities in North America, particularly to meet the demand for trade between the US and Mexico. Arizona, it is said, is the most important state for transport to and from Mexico. Phoenix, in particular, is gaining increasing importance as a central transshipment point for trade across the US southern border.
"Our logistics services in Phoenix strengthen our position in this economically strong region. This allows us to offer our customers greater flexibility in their transport and more reliable supply chains," says Mark McCullough, Country Manager of Gebrüder Weiss in North America.
