With the groundbreaking ceremony for a European battery logistics center in the Netherlands, the DHL site in Holtum is set to support electromobility and energy storage systems across Europe from 2027. Through DHL's supply chain business unit, which specializes in contract logistics, the company is further expanding its battery and energy storage logistics capacities in Europe.

The new site comprises approximately 17,000 square meters of storage and service space for high-voltage batteries and is closely integrated with the adjacent DHL Supply Chain automotive site in Holtum. Together, the two sites form an integrated campus designed to offer end-to-end solutions for electromobility and energy systems throughout Europe.
The batteries at the Holtum site are intended for use in electric vehicles and in the rapidly growing segment of battery energy storage systems (BESS), including home and solar storage . With the increasing demand for electromobility and decentralized energy solutions, the interest of customers from the automotive, industrial, and energy sectors in safe, scalable , and compliant logistics solutions for batteries and energy storage systems is also growing.
Excellent location
Thanks to its location, the region around Holtum is ideally positioned to develop into a central European hub for the logistics of electric vehicles and energy storage systems for customers in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and neighboring markets.
