The eActros 600 features three battery packs, each with a capacity of 207 kWh. These batteries are based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology, which is characterized by its long lifespan. Since the end of 2025, they have also been used in a total of 14 electric trucks operated by Gebrüder Weiss.

The logistics provider uses the trucks for daily general cargo, scheduled and long-distance transport at its locations in Vienna, Pöchlarn, Wels and Hall in Tirol, as well as at its headquarters in Lauterach. The eActros 600 is used by Gebrüder Weiss for both regional and more demanding scheduled and long-distance transport.
Unlike other battery cell technologies, the batteries based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology can be used at over 95 percent of their installed capacity. The result: greater range with the same installed battery capacity. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle is designed for a combined gross train weight of up to 44 tons.
Europe-wide service network
With a standard semi-trailer, the eActros 600 has a payload of approximately 22 tons in the EU. Jürgen Bauer, member of the management board of Gebrüder Weiss, explains: “We have been working with Daimler Truck in the combustion engine sector for ten years. Technological leadership, efficiency, and safety are crucial for us. The eActros 600 was the first to meet the range requirements for our network operations. With Daimler Truck's Europe-wide service network, the overall package perfectly suits our needs.”
A key component of the electrification strategy is the company's own energy and charging infrastructure. Since public charging options for electric trucks are still insufficient in many places, Gebrüder Weiss has established its own charging and energy supply systems at several locations in Austria and southern Germany. Energy is sourced from the company's own photovoltaic system or from certified green electricity.
“Our customers expect reliability and punctuality even with emission-free transport”emphasizes Stefan Oberhauser, Branch Manager Land & Logistics Vorarlberg at Gebrüder Weiss. “With our own energy supply and the new vehicle solutions, sustainable road transport can be ideally implemented. In addition, the vehicles can recharge their batteries while loading or unloading goods – without any additional downtime.”
The electric trucks based in Vorarlberg, Austria, operate day and night. They are used for regional transport within Vorarlberg, for trips to Switzerland and Germany, and for scheduled services to destinations such as Hall in Tirol and Freiburg im Breisgau. Oberhauser: "E-mobility also means a new mindset – more planning, efficient load management, and dispatching that intelligently integrates charging times. But it also shows where infrastructure and regulatory frameworks still need improvement."
