Gebrüder Weiss is celebrating a "jubilee container" these days in Wilhelmshaven, Germany's only deep-water port. Together with the terminal operator Eurogate and Hapag-Lloyd, the millionth sea freight container (TEU) of 2025 was handled.
For the Wilhelmshaven Container Terminal (CTW), the annual throughput exceeded one million containers for the first time. The "anniversary container" came from China and contained machine parts for the agricultural industry. It was transported by the shipping company Hapag-Lloyd on behalf of Gebrüder Weiss.
All three companies have enjoyed a well-established partnership for many years. The CTW (Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven) is a central transshipment point in Gebrüder Weiss's global transport network. From Wilhelmshaven, the logistics company organizes the onward transport of overseas goods as full or less-than-truckload (LCL) shipments within Germany and to Austria, mostly by rail. "We are delighted to be the client for the anniversary container. Wilhelmshaven is of great importance to us and our customers due to its direct connection to the Far East, as well as the fast handling and availability of goods," said Christian Frölich, branch manager of Gebrüder Weiss in Bremen.
