Dematic installed a new central warehouse in Karlstein for the energy storage manufacturer BMZ meter- high tray storage system on the upper floor, RapidStore ML 20 stacker cranes ensure smooth storage and retrieval at 2,192 locations.
The high-tech battery systems are used worldwide in various products from well-known brands. Tray storage and conveyor technology meet the specific requirements for conveyed goods weighing up to 100 kg . "Previously, several warehouses were in operation at this location. The standardized central receiving warehouse, which Dematic has now automated, makes supplying the production of our three units on-site significantly more reliable and efficient," explains BMZ Logistics Project Manager Thomas Oschmann. Founded in 1994, the company has been continuously developing lithium-ion batteries for 20 years in collaboration with its customers and its own development team – from prototype construction to series production.
“Our series production was already highly technologically advanced and fully automated. Now we are also ideally positioned for supplying production and removing components that are no longer needed,” said Oschmann.
Kion handle the storage and retrieval of items in the pallet warehouse in the adjacent logistics center, which has 10,000 pallet spaces have been installed on two levels on the ground floor to save space .
