AutoStore also for the little ones
March 7, 2025

As promised, the "Magic Cube" will be launching new technology for smaller companies at LogiMAT in Stuttgart (March 11-13). The new features include robot-assisted single-item picking, a new workstation, an "Essentials" software suite, as well as additions to the Pio area and a service tower.
"CarouselAI" is the name of AutoStore's first AI and robot-assisted single-item picking system, developed in collaboration with Berkshire Grey, a leading robotics company. It promises best-in-class throughput performance in 24/7 operation, significantly increasing fulfillment efficiency. Existing AutoStore customers can easily upgrade with the CarouselAI Upgrade—a retrofit enables a seamless transition to CarouselPort 4.0 without major infrastructure changes. Supported by AutoStore's partner network, CarouselAI will be available in EMEA and North America starting in summer 2025.

Another system called "VersaPort," a "revolutionary upgrade" for warehouses, adapts to dynamic workflows from manual product feeding to complex picking processes without requiring mechanical changes. Thanks to integration with warehouse management systems, users can seamlessly switch between inbound and outbound processes. VersaPort is scheduled to be launched in Europe and North America starting in summer 2025.
An "Essentials Software" package will offer intelligent routing algorithms, real-time analytics, and detailed reports, as well as continuous improvements beyond traditional system integration. It reduces complexity, increases efficiency, and enables companies to make faster, more informed decisions. Starting March 4, 2025, all new AutoStore customers will receive this software package.

The existing Pio product line, a cost-effective and simplified warehouse automation solution for small to medium-sized businesses and smaller 3PLs, allows companies with lower throughput to operate at AutoStore levels. Newer versions (P200, P400, and P600) are designed to offer more standardized plug-and-play solutions for smaller spaces, and an intuitive app will facilitate integration into existing workflows.
A clever solution is the new service tower, which could eliminate the need for expensive platforms on mezzanines. The tower allows robots to be transported via an elevator while simultaneously providing access for personnel via steps. It also serves as an efficient emergency access solution for high-throughput warehouses.
"In a time of increasing demands for speed and efficiency, we strive to deliver transformative solutions that optimize fulfillment and accelerate digital transformation," explains CEO Mats Hovland Vikse. "I'm particularly proud of CarouselAI, which leverages automation and AI to better support our customers, as well as our new Essentials software package, which supports all stages of the customer journey."
