It began as the valley station of a cable car, which, at an altitude of 1,000 meters—not all that spectacular from a Swiss perspective—became " Germany's highest private brewery ." A cartridge technique was now added to the labeling process—with which the label is "shot" onto the beer bottle.

Bernhard Göhl founded the BernardiBräu brewery in 2014 in the former valley station . Gradually expanded , today a magnificent facility stands at the foot of the Grünten mountain. Göhl is an enthusiastic brewer, a certified master brewer, and a beverage technologist. Over the years, Göhl has also earned a solid reputation nationwide as an external consultant for beverage manufacturers of all kinds. He lovingly incorporates his own

The bottle labeling machine was fitted with a roller stamp, as is still very common today. This was used to apply the best-before date. However, these systems are surprisingly complex and not particularly cheap to maintain. Furthermore, they require a relatively high level of attention and care from the machine operator to achieve a decent print result. A perfectionist in this area, too, these were the reasons why Göhl considered an improvement . He had maintained with the labeling specialists at MFG Technik & Service, based in Kranzberg near Freising/Munich, for years. So the brewmaster contacted the experts.

Since the bottling line only became clear that the continuous inkjet technology initially considered was . Lachner suggested using an X1Jet Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) , a printing system in which ink cartridges are the core. At the same time, a new rotary encoder alternative was tested. A " developed by MFG measures the speed of the labeling machine on a rotating part without contact and transmits these speed pulses directly to the X1Jet. After a few weeks of practical operation it turned out that it is ideally suited for marking bottle labels. This even culminates in the option of printing the exact filling time on the label, if required. The drink itself can then presumably be "acknowledged" on a beer mat.
