Back to the Future

"By returning our headquarters to the United States, we honor our heritage while building for the future of the material handling industry," says Clark President Chuck Moratz. Clark is currently celebrating the opening of its global headquarters in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolis, Texas.
Chuck Moratz could have easily said "I'll be back" in the style of Arnold Schwarzenegger, TV star and former governor of California. The pioneer and one of the market leaders in the material handling equipment industry is immensely proud of the official return of the headquarters to the United States. At the same time, he says, this solidifies the company's status as an iconic American brand and positions the forklift manufacturer for global growth in the coming decades.

The new headquarters in Flower Mound, Texas, is owned by Clark and designed to foster collaboration and serve as a central hub for Clark's ongoing innovations in forklift technology and material handling solutions. The 5293 m² building houses a showroom, a Forklift Experience Center, a Clark Museum, a dealer sales and service training center, a warehouse and distribution center, and global administration. The modern environment serves as a testament to Clark's ongoing commitment to customers, employees, and the dealer network.
The location was strategically chosen due to its proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, offering excellent connectivity for global partners. A temporary global office was established in March 2022, while plans for a permanent facility gradually took shape. After a year-long construction process, the new headquarters officially opened in November 2024. It currently employs 36 people, with plans to increase to 65 by the end of the year.
Vision for the future
In the meantime, US production in Lexington, Kentucky, will continue operations, supported by teams in research and development, engineering, manufacturing and quality.
"The relocation of Clark's global headquarters to the United States reaffirms our commitment to delivering exceptional products and services. The move strengthens our foundation as a global leader and ensures we remain close to our customers and markets," explains Seung Soo Baik, Chairman of Clark Global Headquarters. "Today, we celebrate not just a building, but a bold vision for Clark's future. This headquarters exemplifies our mission to innovate and lead while remaining rooted in the values that have made us a trusted name for over a century."

Clark invited partners and dealers to the opening ceremony to celebrate this momentous occasion as the company embarks on an exciting new chapter from its Dallas headquarters. YoungAn's Honorary Chairman, Sung Hak Baik, was also present to offer his congratulations. "Since 2003, I have envisioned a future where we would one day bring our global headquarters back to America, the birthplace of the forklift. The new building is the realization of that vision," said Sung Hak Baik.
Since the invention of the forklift truck in 1917 by Eugene Clark in Buchanan, Michigan, USA, Clark has been one of the pioneers of the industry, with over 1.4 million forklift trucks sold worldwide. Since its acquisition by YoungAn in 2003, Clark has offered a complete product portfolio consisting of forklift trucks with electric or combustion engines and load capacities from 1.5 to 8 t, reach trucks, warehouse equipment, tow tractors, and a comprehensive range of services. Four headquarters around the globe manage the company's operations. The company manufactures according to European quality standards at plants in Korea, the USA, Vietnam, and China. Clark Europe, based in Duisburg, is one of four subsidiaries and serves the regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with around 170 dealers in 50 countries.
