Sustainable in Hirschthal
April 15, 2025

With its approximately 340 employees in Hischthal, Jungheinrich can now boast that all of its electricity is now generated from renewable energy sources, and the company roof is completely equipped with solar panels. All 150 service vehicles are to be converted to electric power.
Jungheinrich is also increasingly focusing on electromobility within its own company: 60% of the industrial trucks it sells are already equipped with state-of-the-art lithium-ion technology. This technology is continuously being optimized to reduce energy consumption and further lower CO2 emissions in the logistics industry.
In addition to reducing emissions, Jungheinrich consistently pursues the principle of the circular economy. Remanufactured forklifts offer a sustainable alternative to new trucks and extend the service life of the products.

On April 14, 2025, the first of a total of 46 new electric vehicles was officially handed over to a service technician. In the medium term, all 150 vehicles used by all service technicians will be converted to electric buses. "Our goal is to operate all 150 service vehicles emission-free," explains Mirko Studer, Head of Customer Service and member of the management team.
For us, sustainability is not a trend, but a commitment, emphasizes Studer. "We continuously invest in environmentally friendly innovations and set ourselves ambitious goals."
Jungheinrich employs over 20,000 people worldwide in 42 countries. Since its founding in 1960, Jungheinrich Switzerland has developed into a market leader and currently employs over 340 people.
