As part of the collaboration, Safelog will assume the role of the software provider and will further develop its existing system in a targeted and needs-based manner. SEW-Eurodrive will continue to focus on the development of mobile and now also stationary robots, as well as other automation solutions that can be integrated into the software system in a modular and highly productive way.

Pooling strengths

SEW-Eurodrive plans to market these products as standalone units, bundles with drive technology, or integrated solutions. Under the Maxolution brand, the Bruchsal-based family business also intends to implement complete projects as a system integrator .

The aim of the cooperation is to establish a software system on the market that sets new standards in the control of intralogistics processes – flexible, scalable, and consistently geared towards the user's requirements says Hans Krattenmacher, Managing Director of Corporate Innovation Mechatronics at SEW-Eurodrive. Both partners can thus concentrate on their strengths and benefit from a future-oriented, collaborative approach.

Convinced of the added value

Michael Wolter, owner and managing director of Safelog, is also convinced of the added value of the collaboration: We are combining our strengths and developing a state-of-the-art software system for the automation of the future. This allows us to offer customers perfect solutions today for goods-to-person applications as well as for classic logistics processes – with high-performance mobile and stationary robotics.

The solution will not only be used by customers, but also gradually implemented in SEW-Eurodrive's own plants to demonstrate its potential in real-world operation. " With this cooperation, we are jointly taking a decisive step towards a software-defined factory based on high-performance mobile and stationary robots, which, regardless of the application, draws on SEW-Eurodrive's Movi-C automation toolkit " adds Krattenmacher.
