Ultra-cold at minus 80° Celsius
Ultra-low temperature freezing is required for some vaccines, research materials, raw materials, semi-finished products, and an increasing number of biotechnologically manufactured products. Movianto has established proven hardware and processes for this purpose in a total of nine European countries, with two more to follow soon.

The cold reality of the installation
Automated storage systems place high demands on cold storage facilities. The varying response of materials to temperature fluctuations can lead to increased wear and mechanical failure. Robust systems are crucial for maintaining a consistent storage environment.

Carina Tüllmann swears by OLF
Previously COO, she is now embarking on a new chapter as Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director at the Open Logistics Foundation (OLF). She says this reflects how both the foundation (and, of course, her role) have grown.

Smartly dropping at the workplace
It sounds like a relaxation therapy, but it actually has ergonomic advantages. "SmartDrop"bags, specially developed for the SSI Carrier pocket sorter, enable automatic unloading of goods above workstations along the overhead conveyor system, reducing manual intervention to a minimum.

Swisslog launches IntraMove
Swisslog is expanding its portfolio with three autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in the IntraMove series, specifically designed for flexible horizontal transport in dynamic warehouse environments. The AMRs can handle loads up to 3,000 kg and utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance performance.

Everything on the radar
Technical assistance systems help to meet safety requirements, manage high throughput rates, and maximize efficiency. However, too many systems used simultaneously can also lead to information overload and operator errors. Jungheinrich brings these systems together clearly and efficiently with its "zoneControl" system.

20 eActros delivered
Daimler's truck division staged a major event entitled "Electrifying Moments" to mark the handover of 20 eActros 600 trucks to Swiss transport companies at the historic Swiss Abroad Square in Brunnen (SZ). Around 80 invited guests celebrated against the impressive mountain backdrop of Lake Lucerne.

Optional with lifting unit
A new mobile platform called the KMP 250P from KUKA's AMR portfolio can transport goods and components weighing up to 250 kg and can be optionally equipped with a lifting unit. Cleanroom and ESD versions enable its use in specialized applications.

Not just saving costs
The so-called return on investment (ROI) isn't simply about profitability. It must also consider the ability to maintain operations even during labor shortages or seasonal peaks. In some industries, it's simply impossible to hire enough employees, says Riku Puska.

13.4 percent fewer orders
According to Swissmem, the situation for the Swiss tech industry deteriorated further in the second quarter – even before the impact of the reported "US tariff increase". Compared to the same period last year, sales fell by 2.5 percent, orders by 2.3 percent, and goods exports by 0.9 percent.

Train for AI in good time
Many companies haven't gotten the message yet. A study says that AI training will be essential for employees to remain successful, because AI applications will double within the next 12 months. Time to get moving.

DHL celebrates the «Post Tower»
Based on a design by star architect Helmut Jahn, ground was broken in 2000 for what was then Germany's tallest office building outside of Frankfurt, standing at 162.5 meters. It was ready for occupancy in 2002, housing 2,000 employees. Since then, the company, now a leading global logistics provider with 600,000 employees, has been managed from this location.

Long-term security
FFB Förder- und Hebezeuge Service GmbH has been a strong partner of Toyota Material Handling , providing forklifts and other industrial trucks in southern Germany around Heilbronn, Stuttgart, Mannheim, and Karlsruhe. Now, TMHDE is acquiring a minority stake.

Significantly below last year's level
Swiss Post achieved a profit of CHF 123 million (previous year: CHF 220 million) in the first half of 2025, with revenues of CHF 2.088 billion in its logistics business (previous year: CHF 2.172 billion). Across all business areas, the 35,478 employees generated revenues of CHF 3.6 billion. Structural changes, it was stated today at the presentation of the figures in Bern, are unavoidable.

First robot fleet for Gulf States
"Starlink" is the name of SpaceX's well-known satellite network. Logistics provider "Starlinks," on the other hand, is experienced in the Gulf States and has now launched its first large-scale robotics operation in Riyadh with Geekplus, a fleet of 39 RoboShuttle8, 126 P40, and 90 S20C robots.

Expansion in Saudi Arabia
Hoyer, one of the world's leading logistics providers specializing in liquid goods for the chemical, gas, and food industries, is further expanding its presence in the Middle East. Having already operated a warehouse and bottling plant in Al-Jubail since 2018, it is now opening a branch in Dammam.
