As part of the Test Camp Intralogistics and the International Forklift of the Year (IFOY) competition, the preliminary certificates for 2026 were presented today in Dortmund by Jan Drömer, Chairman of the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Section, to the 17 nominees who will now go into the final round.

SVTL meets in a historic setting
April 16, 2026
The general assembly of the Swiss Association for Temperature-Controlled Logistics at Lenzburg Castle on May 8th will address, in addition to the usual agenda items, personnel management, modern advertising for skilled workers on social media and the question of whether humanoid robots will one day be helpful .

MAGA in the approach path
April 15, 2026
German technology remains highly regarded when it comes to rapid material handling, the elimination of weaknesses, and service quality. Following successful projects in Oklahoma and Texas, the steel trader " Steel and Pipe Supply " (SPS) in Kansas City once again relied on Kasto saws and storage systems.

Rent warehouse equipment instead of buying it
April 15, 2026
Bito is launching an offensive with an economical alternative for companies that want to re-equip, expand, or temporarily supplement their warehouse and production areas, but don't want to tie up their capital long-term: renting instead of buying is the motto. The advantages – especially in " dynamic times " – are obvious.

Streamlined logistics
April 15, 2026
Coop's own rail connection for urban logistics in Zurich, streamlined logistics vehicles and the outsourcing of all operating room logistics in a cooperation between the Seeschau Clinic and the Swiss Post are the projects that are entering the final sprint for this year's Swiss Logistics Award from GS1.

Vacuum technology makes mobility possible
April 14, 2026
Compressed air has traditionally been used primarily for fixed installations. Schmalz's vacuum grippers also mainly operate with lines that often have to run across halls and facilities. However, mobile robotics increasingly requires flexible solutions – a need that Schmalz now intends to address more effectively.

A foray into drive technology
April 13, 2026
Safelog, the specialists for software for controlling intralogistics processes, have entered into a cooperation with the drive experts from SEW Eurodrive at LogiMAT in order to jointly develop a high-performance software for controlling mobile and stationary processes in intralogistics.

reduce energy losses

For loading and unloading operations in temperature-controlled halls, a gate guide in front , combined with a fixed insulation panel below the loading bridge. An HTL2 ISO system, as offered by Hörmann, is particularly worthwhile for daily loading and unloading times of eight to nine hours.
The energy-saving HTL2 ISO sliding loading bridge, in combination with a customized sectional door, is specifically designed for this application. It offers approximately 55 percent better thermal insulation than non-insulated sliding loading bridges, both in its resting position and during loading, thus helping to save energy costs.
The loading bridge features 50 mm thick, moving insulation panels mounted beneath the platform and the extension lip – at nearly the same height as the insulation of the hall floor. This patented solution reduces energy losses through the building structure (transmission losses) and ensures efficient thermal insulation. An insulation panel is carried along as the extension lip is raised, further reducing energy losses during loading. The loss of ventilation heat, for example through the gap between the loading bridge and the pit, is also minimized by vertical and horizontal seals.

The IC (Increased Clearance) type feed lip has a standard free support length of 390 mm and is therefore also suitable for refrigerated vehicles with a recessed loading floor.
The assembly of the loading bridge can be carried out much faster, as all insulation panels and seals are pre-assembled. Furthermore, the HTL2 ISO is easy to maintain thanks to its readily accessible hydraulics.
For new buildings, Hörmann recommends combining the HTL2 ISO with a matching industrial sectional door, which is tapered in the lower area to match the contours of the loading ramp.
In conjunction with the HTL2 ISO, the sectional door closes directly on the 160 mm projecting insulation panel of the loading ramp, thus ensuring optimal thermal insulation even when not in use. The sealing and centering unit developed by Hörmann guides the door reliably in the loading ramp area and provides an optimal seal. Thanks to the adapted design in the lower door area, only a small recess (110 mm wide) is required in the pit for the door guide.

Furthermore, the HTL2 ISO is available in conjunction with the DOBO (Docking before Opening) system. The truck can dock at the loading dock with its doors closed. The vehicle doors are only opened once the sectional door has been raised for loading or unloading.
