Bito is launching an offensive with an economical alternative for companies that want to re-equip, expand, or temporarily supplement their warehouse and production areas, but don't want to tie up their capital long-term: renting instead of buying is the motto. The advantages – especially in " dynamic times " – are obvious.

Compressed air has traditionally been used primarily for fixed installations. Schmalz's vacuum grippers also mainly operate with lines that often have to run across halls and facilities. However, mobile robotics increasingly requires flexible solutions – a need that Schmalz now intends to address more effectively.

Digital twins in computers and warehouse management systems are not yet standard practice. However, a system that uses LiDAR in real time certainly deserves attention. IdentPro collaboratively controls manned and unmanned vehicles and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The technical possibilities for precisely locating internal transport are improving almost daily. For a while, major providers were able to implement this using reflectors, radio beacons, or precisely defined lanes, often with considerable effort. The demonstration on the first day of the IFOY test camp showed that IdentPro's Warehouse Execution System grants forklift drivers a relatively high degree of flexibility. Since a real-time overview is guaranteed, they can drive to virtually any unloading position, which is then automatically mapped, registered, and processed in the 3D software. Thus, it's not a robotization of the human employee, but rather a tool that provides new freedoms by offering assistance.

IdentPro creates a real-time digital twin (RTLS) by consistently and automatically tracking each individual transport with centimeter-level accuracy using lidar technology. To achieve this, all existing vehicles (manned, automated, and manufacturer-independent) are equipped with IoT sensors that continuously capture up-to-date 3D information about the movement of the stored goods and the surrounding spatial geometry. The system communicates constantly with all deployed material handling vehicles via Wi-Fi or LTE. This allows for the analysis of empty runs, search times, and inefficient storage scenarios. This data forms the input for intelligent algorithms. The result is smart, real-time allocation of transport orders with efficiency gains of 20 to 30%. This orchestrates smart automation, enabling the clear and efficient control of both unmanned and manned vehicles from a single system.

Localization is accurate to within 10 cm. Interfaces and standards (such as VDA 5050) ensure transparency and, in the long term, increased overall equipment effectiveness. According to the provider, connections to ERP systems, WMS, or storage and control systems are possible at any time. The solution requires no changes to the warehouse infrastructure; only the existing vehicles are equipped with IoT sensors.

IFOY auditors attest that IdentPro's Warehouse Execution System, with its relatively simple additional sensors, can contribute to a time- and cost-saving overall warehouse system. This is very attractive for new customers who, during the transition from manual to automated vehicles, can benefit from support and clear visualization methods. The software centralizes all warehouse data. Companies like BMW and Warsteiner, it is said, already rely on it.
