Nothing is wasted: «TX Logistik» (a subsidiary of Mercitalia Logistics – FS Italiane Group), founded in 1999 and now one of the largest rail freight transport companies in Europe, has transferred the management of its Austrian «Transalpine» subsidiary to Dejan Pejic.
The 43-year-old succeeds Gero Sieberger, who will now focus on his role as Director of Asset Management & Claims Management at TX Logistik and, as one of the company slogans so aptly puts it, "sweep the dust off the tracks." Pejic brings several years of experience in rail freight transport, gained at various railway logistics companies. The qualified locomotive driver and graduate engineer specializing in railway technology and mobility previously worked at the former TX Logistik Austria from April 2017 to October 2018
He was employed as an operations manager and operations manager. He then moved to Wiener Lokalbahnen Cargo, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer.
Convinced « off-roaders »
In 2020, the activities and resources of TX Austria and TX Italia were merged to form TX Logistik Transalpine. Based in Schwechat near Vienna, the company reflects the strategic importance of the Austrian-Italian Alpine routes within the TX network. Dejan Pejic is tasked with strengthening rail freight transport within Austria and Italy, expanding existing connections, developing new routes, and driving the internationalization of Mercitalia Logistics (Gruppo FS Italiane).
Johann Eder, who joined the company in 2015, has completed the management team of TX Logistik Transalpine. In its Intermodal and Rail Freight divisions, TX Logistik develops rail solutions for continental and maritime transport, as well as customized concepts for conventional freight. With 650 employees and 8.6 billion ton-kilometers, the company generated annual revenue of €253 million in 2021. Since January 2017, TX Logistik has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercitalia Logistics SpA, a subsidiary of the Italian State Railways, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
