Farewell to "Heidi" Senger-Weiss, co-owner and supervisory board member of the transport company Gebrüder Weiss until her advanced age. She was 82 years old. Together the company from 1968 to 2004 to which she remained closely connected .

During her 36 years at the operational helm, Heidi Senger-Weiss, who was also inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame in 2015, had a lasting impact not only on the company. According to a statement from the logistics service provider, her network-oriented thinking inspired the entire industry. As President of the Austrian Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association and in various roles at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, she successfully championed the importance of logistics and repeatedly highlighted its significance for the economy in public.

In the 1960s

Her management style and leadership made Gebrüder Weiss a model for medium-sized family businesses. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to logistics, Heidi Senger-Weiss was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame at the German Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin in 2015 – the first woman ever to receive this honor. For her life's work, Heidi Senger-Weiss received numerous other awards, most recently the Grand Silver Medal of Honor and Decree of the Republic of Austria in November 2022. With Heidi Senger-Weiss's passing, Gebrüder Weiss loses an exceptional personality and a remarkable individual to whom the company owes so much.

Born in Vienna in 1941, she spent her youth in Bregenz. After completing her studies in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, she gained practical experience in freight forwarding in Basel, Rotterdam, Paris, and New York. In 1965, she joined her parents' company. She exemplified values ​​such as reliability, commitment, and respect. About herself, she said: "I never fancied myself the best freight forwarder. My talent lies in motivating people and inspiring them to work with enthusiasm and dedicate themselves to a cause."
