 Weiss Brothers Arizona

It sounds dangerous, but it's a lucrative business for Gebrüder Weiss: The transport and logistics service provider from Vorarlberg is adding another location in Phoenix to its sites in El Paso and Laredo (Texas), which specialize in the cross-border transport of goods to and from Mexico.

Phoenix will handle air and sea freight, including customs clearance, as well as land transport of partial and full loads. In 2023 alone, goods worth almost 20 billion US dollars were transported between Arizona and Mexico.

The Austrians are continuously expanding their activities in North America, particularly to meet the growing demand in trade between the USA and Mexico. Arizona, they say, is the most important state for transport to and from Mexico. Phoenix, in particular, is gaining increasing importance as a central transshipment hub for trade across the southern border of the USA.

“Our logistics services in Phoenix strengthen our position in this economically powerful region. This allows us to offer our customers greater flexibility in their transportation and more reliable supply chains,” says Mark McCullough, Country Manager of Gebrüder Weiss in North America.

Gebrüder Weiss now operates a network of 17 locations in the United States. In addition to Phoenix, the company recently opened a logistics terminal in Elgin, Illinois, as well as branches in Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado; and Dallas, Texas. In 2024, the company acquired the Salt Lake City-based freight forwarding firm Cargo-Link.
