MAGA in the approach path
April 15, 2026
German technology remains highly regarded when it comes to rapid material handling, the elimination of weaknesses, and service quality. Following successful projects in Oklahoma and Texas, the steel trader " Steel and Pipe Supply " once again relied on saws and storage systems from the Rhine Valley in Kansas City.

Rent warehouse equipment instead of buying it
April 15, 2026
Bito is launching an offensive with an economical alternative for companies that want to re-equip, expand, or temporarily supplement their warehouse and production areas, but don't want to tie up their capital long-term: renting instead of buying is the motto. The advantages – especially in " dynamic times " – are obvious.

Logistics provider Yusen is presenting an expanded global platform for the healthcare sector at LogiPharma in Vienna, where companies such as Novartis, Bayer, Takeda, and hospital supplier UCB are currently participating. The platform focuses on the professional delivery of specialized healthcare solutions.

Streamlined logistics
April 15, 2026
Coop's own rail connection for urban logistics in Zurich, streamlined logistics vehicles and the outsourcing of all operating room logistics in a cooperation between the Seeschau Clinic and the Swiss Post are the projects that are entering the final sprint for this year's Swiss Logistics Award from GS1.

Vacuum technology makes mobility possible
April 14, 2026
Compressed air has traditionally been used primarily for fixed installations. Schmalz's vacuum grippers also mainly operate with lines that often have to run across halls and facilities. However, mobile robotics increasingly requires flexible solutions – a need that Schmalz now intends to address more effectively.

A foray into drive technology
April 13, 2026
Safelog, the specialists for software for controlling intralogistics processes, have entered into a cooperation with the drive experts from SEW Eurodrive at LogiMAT in order to jointly develop a high-performance software for controlling mobile and stationary processes in intralogistics.

Networking with perspectives

Clean unloading of bulk goods
April 17, 2025

CVS engineering from Rheinfelden is launching an energy-efficient solution for the rapid stationary unloading of silo trucks. The advantage: no truck engine or compressor needs to run during the unloading of grain, sugar, flour, cement, lime, PVC granules, soda, or animal feed.
The unloading process is designed to be clean, quiet, and efficient, which is particularly relevant in sensitive areas such as food factories, breweries, or inner-city production sites. Since no onboard compressor is required, investment costs per vehicle are reduced. Furthermore, complex superstructures are eliminated, and maintenance is minimized because no additional technology is installed on the vehicle. The system also offers flexibility in daily operation: any truck can handle any load – regardless of whether it is equipped with a compressor or not. This allows for the seamless use of subcontractors or rental vehicles. Another advantage: the stationary solution completely relieves the truck engine, extending its lifespan and reducing thermal and mechanical stress. For companies with high truck traffic, the system pays for itself in the long run through standardized processes and the possibility of energy-efficient operation – for example, with frequency converters.
Fig.: CVS
The unit was developed not least because of the increasing demands for sustainability and efficiency. It also contributes to operational optimization, as the compressed air can be used, for example, for pneumatic conveying within the company. "Unloading has primarily been done via the compressor on the truck. However, truck-based systems have disadvantages such as high noise levels," explains Key Account Manager Patrick Zettler of CVS engineering.
The SKL-E Pack system, on the other hand, can simply be connected to a power source.
Typical customers include companies in the food production, construction, chemical, and logistics industries, as well as recycling and environmental technology. A key advantage of the system is that the engine or compressor of the delivering truck does not need to run during the unloading of grain, sugar, flour, cement, lime, PVC granules, soda, or animal feed, ensuring a low-emission and low-noise process. The stationary system can also operate independently of the vehicle and is continuously available.
Depending on the application, the power package consists of an oil-free screw compressor and
a powerful electric motor with 22 to 55 kilowatts. An integrated control unit adjusts the flow rate and optimizes energy consumption. Depending on the model and requirements, components such as frequency converters, compressed air coolers, and speed control are optionally available for even more efficient operation.
