Thermo King continues to invest heavily in providing emission-free solutions for all-electric refrigerated transport to reduce its carbon footprint . At the IAA Transport trade fair in Hanover, new refrigeration units for light electric vans such as the Iveco eDaily were presented .

The new E-Series was developed from the ground up specifically for battery-powered electric vehicles in the 3.5 to 7.5-ton range. " Battery autonomy, life cycle, and intelligent energy management between the refrigeration unit and the battery-powered vehicle are here ," says Graham Wells, Product Manager for vehicle-mounted truck equipment for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). " The new E-Series is designed to minimize the impact on the vehicle's range while contributing to lower total cost of ownership (TCO) ."

We are proud to introduce our new eDaily ,” says Vittorio Bussi, Head of Iveco Product Management for Commercial Vehicles. “It retains the robustness, performance, and versatility of our familiar Daily. Furthermore, leveraging our partnership with bodybuilders, it has been developed for a wide range of conversions and applications, made possible by its characteristic flexible chassis. The fully modular battery pack makes it the perfect companion for all tasks.”

The new eDaily introduces electric PTO solutions up to 15 kW that continue to supply power even when the electric motor is switched off – a groundbreaking innovation ideally suited for applications such as refrigerated transport. The new E-Series units are powered directly from the vehicle's battery without draining it . To ensure optimal temperature control with reduced energy consumption, the new E-Series features patented inverter technology and a powerful, hermetic, variable-speed refrigeration compressor. A control and energy management system optimizes power supply and demand in real time, minimizing the impact on the energy storage system while the vehicle on delivery routes .
