Using approximately 450 million kg of milk from 2,200 farmers in the region, the Lower Austrian dairy NÖM produces a wide range of dairy products, yogurt, butter, and quark. Kardex Mlog is now slated to build a fully automated shipping warehouse with comprehensive conveyor technology and 26,000 pallet spaces.

Supermarket group Axfood has signed a letter of intent with Witron regarding the use of the company's automation technology and with the municipality of Kungsbacka for the construction of a logistics center in Frillesås, Sweden. Commissioning and ramp-up are planned for 2030. 

IVF Hartmann, a supplier of surgical supplies, plasters, and diagnostic equipment, had little room to maneuver in Neuhausen between the roaring rapids of Europe's largest waterfall and the Swiss SIGsite for its new logistics center. Together with Dematic, they developed a truly sensational solution.

Zambelli, a provider of solutions for building envelopes, shelving, industrial metalworking, and  heating technology, is also among the leading manufacturers of roof drainage systems. Their product range alone comprises 17,500 items. At the new logistics center in Grafenau, this was a clear case for SSI Schäfer.

Agile Robots, a provider of AI-powered automation solutions, hasacquired the remaining shares of the BMW spin-off idealworks. Following its initial investment in 2023, Agile Robots now holds 100% of idealworks. The BMW Group remains a long-term partner.

Swisslog is expanding its portfolio with three autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in the IntraMove series, specifically designed for flexible horizontal transport in dynamic warehouse environments. The AMRs can handle loads up to 3,000 kg and utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance performance.

The so-called return on investment (ROI) isn't simply about profitability. It must also consider the ability to maintain operations even during labor shortages or seasonal peaks. In some industries, it's simply impossible to hire enough employees, says Riku Puska.

Sunrise Medical, a provider of medical mobility products, established a new warehouse in Nieuwegein (NL) with SSI Schäfer. Careful planning ensured that daily operations continued uninterrupted while the new warehouse was integrated with shelving from the old site in less than two months.

AI-based solutions enable automated inventory monitoring and the performance of stocktaking during operations. They can identify anomalies, such as misplaced or damaged items, and initiate targeted corrective actions. This reduces the need for corrections.
